Schlapp never wavered from her goals, and she collaborated closely in conjunction with White House policy and political teams. Her focus to date has been issues such as safety in schools, the opioid epidemic, infrastructure, trade and other related topics. The reporter doesn't get to interact at all in her current role. However, in March her name was floated to be a possible person who could take over Hope Hicks at the Communications Director position. It has been a battle that has been brutal. Schlapp was a ally of Tony Sayegh who was also running for office. They started fighting in media. Schlapp confronted Sayegh following that the Washington Examiner printed a bad report about him.
